2. Cellulite is fat. Although cellulite is a kind of fat it is not considered purely fat. Cellulite is distorted and blocked fat situated at the topmost layer of your skin, while ordinary fat can be eliminated through exercise and dieting. Moreover, cellulite cannot be removed by doing a lot of exercise and dieting.
3. Cellulite affects only the thighs and the buttocks. Although cellulite is usually found on your thighs and buttocks, it can also appear in some parts of your body like your arm, neck, and stomach.
4. Only old people get cellulite. The fact is although cellulite is more prominent in older people because of the change in the texture of their skin it could also affect younger ones due to hormonal changes. The other truth to the matter is that cellulite usually starts to appear when you reach puberty and if it is not properly treated early its appearance will become worse as you grow old. The appearance of cellulite in younger people is similar to an orange peel, while in older ones, it looks like an ugly bumps and lumps.
5. Only obese people get cellulite. If this myth is to be believed, it will lead to low self-esteem for obese people. The fact is even skinny people can also be affected by cellulite, although obese people are more prone to this kind of skin problem.
6. Only women get cellulite. Although women are the most affected by cellulite, the fact is men could also encounter the situation. The only difference is that it is not too visible in men.
7. Exercise and diet could prevent cellulite. The fact is the appearance of cellulite could be lessened through these techniques but they cannot eliminate it.
8. You can do nothing to eliminate cellulite. There are a lot of people who think that cellulite cannot be treated. The fact is cellulite can be treated by undergoing high-tech massages and some natural creams that are easily acquired in your favorite stores. These creams can reduce the appearance of your cellulite, if not totally removed.
